SCITS Building Preservation Committee

Mission Statement

Our committee is dedicated to the advocacy, public awareness and increased public involvement directed towards preserving the SCITS building so that it may continue to serve Sarnia citizens.
As an arm of the Sarnia Historical Society, are committed to the preservation of the distinctive architectural characteristics of SCITS, including its classical auditorium, for future generations of our community to appreciate.
We will promote the merits and support the endeavours of the Sarnia Heritage Committee to designate the SCITS building as a historically significant property by seeking heritage status at the provincial and/or municipal level.
We will work to inform the public about the multitude of opportunities and potential directions available for repurposing the building may that be by municipal government, local organizations or private business.
